“Some time to spare and an interest to share”
SCAFT couldn’t function without it’s committed band of volunteers, from the organisations governance to it’s service delivery, volunteers are an essential element of almost everything we do.
We are blessed with a core team of flexible and committed volunteers, many of whom have been with us since our creation over 15 years ago and who continue to get great reward from being able to spend time with our young carers and to share their hobbies and interests, along with their skills and life experience. Over the years many of our volunteers have earned awards for their service, from local authority volunteering awards to the High Sheriff’s Award, not to mention our own awards recognising our volunteers invaluable contributions and service.
We really don’t expect everyone to make a commitment for as long as 15 years, those that do are exceptional, but if you have a few hours spare in the evenings we’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested, we’ll invite you along to one of our group sessions as a taster. If the taster session goes well, from everyone’s point of view, and you wish to take things further we will expect you to satisfactorily complete security (Enhanced DBS) checks, have a couple of suitable references available and complete some basic training, such as Safeguarding & First Aid.
Here are our current vacancies and volunteering opportunities.
