One2one School Support Worker
Description: Due to the demands of our services we are looking for more staff to join our team and support Young Carers aged 6-18years old. Previous experience working with young people would be an advantage.
Organisation Description: We are a local Charity, working primarily across the Rochford and Rayleigh areas, providing support to children who are caring for someone within the family home due to long term illness or disability. We aim to relieve the social, emotional, mental, physical and educational needs of those often isolated or disadvantaged by their caring responsibilities. We do this through the provision of a range of services, person and group centered interventions, advice, guidance and sign-posting to other services as appropriate.
The One2One Support Worker Sessions are held at:
Local Secondary and Primary Schools across the Rochford District
Hours:
Hours negotiable, during school hours, term time only
Areas of Interest: Children, families, sport and outdoor activities, youth advice, information and support, youth work.
If you have any special talents or particular interests that could be put to practical use at sessions that would be great. Must enjoy working with young people.
Types of Activity: Sport, games, arts and crafts, cooking and outings.
Additional/Specific Suitability: Those wishing to work with SCAFT should be at least 16 years of age, whilst those wishing to help at Secondary schools should be over 21 years. Staff must be aware of the importance of confidentiality and be willing to undertake basic level training/Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) checks.
